Scotty McCreery had a potentially career-altering moment during a ballgame last week. Scotty was on the mound for North Carolina's Garner High School when a batter hit a grounder that took an odd bounce and nailed him in the throat. According to the Raleigh, North Carolina, News Observer, he snatched up the ball, threw the batter out and continued to pitch.
Scotty turned in just over four innings and struck out six, but East Wake went on to beat Garner three to two.
