Did you know Lady Gaga was one of the first folks to hear the new Band Perry single, “Live Forever?” The two acts were working at the same studio, so TBP took the chance to get instant feedback from the pop superstar. When she heard “Live Forever,” she suggested they raise the volume on Reid’s mandolin.

Reid took it as a huge compliment, but he can’t tell whether Lady Gaga wanted more of the instrument or just more of him.

The Band Perry talk about Lady Gaga.

Kimberly: “She actually was in the studio when we were writing ‘Live Forever’ and so she came in and we were kind of listening to each other’s music that day and, what was her comment about ‘Live Forever’ it was your favorite one?”

Reid: “She wanted the mandolin turned up when she heard the recording.”

Kimberly: “She said, ‘Turn up the mandolin.’”

Reid: “I think it was more because she had a thing for me.”

Neil: “I’m pretty sure it’s just the mandolin.”

Reid: “It was like a signal she was telling me.”

Neil: “No. There were no signals.”

Kimberly: “No I didn’t see any signals. I didn’t catch any signals. Nice try. She’s engaged. Sorry.”

Neil: “She still liked the mandolin.”

Believe it -- after a decade as a pro singer, Carrie Underwood admits she still gets nervous before she goes onstage. In a Facebook chat last week, the “Smoke Break” singer admitted, “I’ve been waiting for the day that my knees don’t shake, but I guess if I’m nervous, it means I care, right?!”  Miranda Lambert definitely cares about Carrie.  Miranda Lambert admits she was a nervous wreck singing “Somethin’ Bad” with Carrie Underwood.  “Singing with someone as powerful as she is, pushed you as a vocalist. You know? She’s a haas.” For the record, Miranda didn’t call Carrie an avocado. UrbanDictionary.com says "haas" is slang for a trustworthy and steadfast person.

Miranda Lambert kicked out the jams at the Whiskey Jam songwriters showcase in Nashville on Monday. People reports Miranda was spotted singing along to hit-maker Ryan Hurd while he performed Blake Shelton’s “Lonely Tonight,” which Ryan co-wrote in 2014 with Brent Anderson.  An onlooker tells People. “She was just at a table watching the artists with the rest of the crowd. She seemed really happy and like her usual self.” Whiskey Jam is a weekly event held at Nashville’s Winners Bar and Grill.  Back in 2005, Miranda Lambert said songwriting is like therapy for her.  “It revitalizes like when I’m dry and I’m feeling all these emotions when I pour them out onto paper, I feel fresh and I feel like, I’m not -- I love Merle Haggard -- everyone knows I’m like I’m in love with him -- and one of the reasons is that he is never ashamed or reserved about telling about real life and things that have happened to him.”  Miranda’s eighth Cause for Paws-Back to Basics benefit for the Muttnation Foundation is September 18th and 19th in Luckenbach, Texas.
